Speech & Language

Speech and Language services to target receptive and expressive language, speech sound production, and social communication. Services may include improving comprehension and use of vocabulary, syntax (grammar), narrative skills, social communication skills, higher-level language skills, speech sound production, and phonological awareness. Direct services as well as family centered strategies will be incorporated.

Structured Literacy

Reading services that use the science to reading to support literacy needs. Early literacy skills targeted may include phonological and phonemic awareness, phonics, decoding, sight word recognition, encoding, structural analysis, reading fluency, and reading comprehension. Evidence based curriculum include Smarter Intervention, Wilson Reading System, Orton Gillingham, and the Esperanza Program (for Spanish-speaking clients).

Family Education

Consultation services to support families in better understanding their child’s learning profile. Review and discuss any previous testing. Advocacy support to request school special education services, review and discuss Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), 504 Plans, or Individualized Service Plans.

Hi, I’m Emilia (Emily)

MS, CCC-SLP | Licensed Speech Pathologist

Emily Motroni is a licensed bilingual (English/Spanish) speech-language pathologist and reading specialist with almost 10 years of experience working with pediatric clients in outpatient hospital, home health and public school settings. She maintains a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) through the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and licensure through the State of Colorado.

How services are provided

01/

Assessment and Goal Setting

Evaluations begin with a caregiver interview and review of background information. Depending on previous testing and/or services, formal or informal methods will be used to determine client’s level and area of need. Goals will be determined based on clinician insight as well as family goals and input.

Treatment

Hello Lango provides therapy that is multi-sensory, structured and systematic, using research-based methodologies. Services are tailored to each client, guided by data, adaptable, and collaborative with families and other support professionals.

Progress Monitoring & Adjustment

Progress will be monitored regularly to measure a client’s response to intervention. Goals will be adjusted based on progress as well as input from the client and family. Regular meeting and feedback will be provided with the family to discuss goal areas and determine continued need for services.
